Nightfolk

Nightfolk is a fantasy tabletop RPG rules set designed to be simple, deadly, and mischievous.

Nightfolk are creatures who can see at night (and can't in the day). They don't live near the Daywalkers; they're hidden in forests and small enclaves. But Nightfolk like risking their lives for wealth and glory, too.

This ruleset may be for you if you:

• Are sick of characters switching between dying and perfectly healthy many times each fight.
• Ignore darkvision rules in dungeons because it's annoying.
• Enjoy playing a mischievous goblin.
• Want fast character creation (no session 0 required)
• Wonder why there are no rules for pocket sand or butchering dead enemies in other RPGs.
• Still enjoy the fantasy setting, but want a slight departure from the default heroic medieval Western Europe setting.

Nightfolk is inspired by many other fantastic games, including Cairn, Shadowdark, and Roadwarden.

The world of Nightfolk is somewhat generic and is relatively compatible with other Old School Revival (OSR) worlds and rulesets. Nightfolk provides guidelines to convert to and from other OSR-style bestiaries and spells.
